Hayate is just a normal 16-year old boy whose parents are both unemployed and ultimately sells him to the mafia for money on Christmas Eve. He tries to kidnap Sanzenin Nagi, your usual rich girl who owns a mansion, but one thing led to another, and she takes him in to work as her butler, to try to pay off the money his parents still owe.
