30% Adult Comics involve "Children and Sexual Intercourse" -- A Request to the National Police Agency to Regulate
As reported by “Workshop on Protection of Children from Bad Effects of Virtual Societies” (a private meeting organized by a director of life security section of National Police Agency), it is speculated that about 30% of adult comics have scenes of sexual intercourse with children, and they can be bought even by children on the Internet. They pointed out that the harmful book classification system is likely no longer effective, and they suggested that they should take measures not to sell them to children. According to the report, Police Agency has inspected 100 books out of 9,000 adult comics, and they found that 30 books dealt with sexual intercourse with children and 5 of them were elementary school children or younger. This kind of books can be bought on the Internet and the age of the customer would not be checked. Also, they can be bought at convenience stores. They are wrapped to prevent the content from being seen, but children do not hesitate to buy them because family or clerks do not notice. The Police Agency is going to show their report to adult comic stores and request them to take a measure for children. In September, the same group requested cellular phone companies to sell children phones whose accesses to adult sites were forbidden in advance, and the companies showed their measures as a response to the request.
